Vlad Bodrug

My name is Vlad Bodrug, and this is my website.

Well, it's not just my website. I've started my career as a software developer back in 2011, and basically, decided to create my personal web page only more than 10 years after.

Why hadn't I created it before? Well, the main reason was - I just wasn't sure about the content to fill it. At the same time - I intentionally didn't want to make it just like a plain and lifeless business card.

At last, I've decided, except the regular resume and bio, to mention here about all my hobbies, passions, and even my thoughts (in a blog).

Thus, in this website you can (and will) find topics like:

  • Radio - Finally, my old hobby of SWLing and QSL-cards collecting found its place here. Glenn Hauser's broadcasting, useful shortwave radio resourses, and much more.
  • Romania - The country I love so much, and I'm sure it's unfair, that one knows so little about its culture, history (no boring facts, I can rest assure you), and ethnical aspects. And no - Romani people and Romanians are not the same.
  • Books reviews - reading is my oldest hobby. I've read hundreds of books. But the problem is - I dont' share my opinions and reviews on particular books with no one, except few friends. Should I tell you, how exhausted I am with this fact? That's why I created this space - to express here my little reviews and even to rate all the books I mention.

You can be sure, I have much more hobbies. But for now I don't have enough time to create a separate page for each of them here. Yes, my free time is the only problem. I have a lot of ideas and plans, and enough hope to wait until all of them are realized.

Also, I'm volunteering as a live stream video technician in Calgary, AB, Canada at:

  • Knox United Church - my favourite place in Calgary indeed. Very nice and open-minded community, the building was erected in 1912. This place, these people are helping me a lot.
  • Calgary Folk Club - the oasis of folk music in Calgary. Volunteering for it means to be a canadian for me (although I'm oficially I'm not).

You could be surprised, but what you're reading now - it's not my bio. But you can access it through the page "My Bio". Regarding my resume - you could download it by clicking a big and nice button beneath my photo, rightward.

Also, the links to my social media accounts are available in the footer.
